Operations Risk Analyst
Our client is an investment manager dedicated to solely managing funds of hedge funds with approximately $5 billion of assets under management. Our client?s investors include pension plans,
corporations, insurance companies, university and college endowments, public and private foundations, family offices and individual investors. The company has operations in New York, Chicago, London and Hong Kong and offers a full range of benefits that include

Our client is currently seeking a candidate who will be part of a multi-dimensional operations department who will focus on supporting its operational
risk function with responsibilities primarily associated with our due diligence efforts to evaluate and monitor our external sub-advisors operating environments.
This position will be required to also integrate tightly with our investment, legal and compliance departments in researching the degree of operational
risk that exists in our current and prospective managers.
The ideal candidate is one who works or has worked in a financial services or Big Four accounting firm and who has developed solid organizational skills, a strong work ethic and
has a comfort level working in a high volume environment.
Responsibilities & Goals
· Support the Operations Department in its operational risk monitoring efforts by participating in the
operational due diligence process with respect to current and prospective sub-advisors.
Support timely documentation and communication of any initial and ongoing operational due diligence reviews by working closely with the Managing Director ? Operational Risk and Operations
Department supporting these efforts.
Assist the Managing Director ? Operational Risk in assessing and communicating the level of operational risk exposure with respect to our sub-advisors.
Support the review of annual audited financial statements for all external hedge fund investments.
· Support the annual review of operational due diligence documentation for each sub-advisor and any reporting
requirements necessary to support the funds semi-annual and annual audit process.
· Support certain reporting requirements between the Operations Department and the Client Service team.
· Support an efficient on boarding process for new managed account sub-advisors by communicating effectively
with the Operations Department and Investment Department As it relates to initial operational due diligence and the hand off of trade capture implementation and daily production to the Operations Team.
· Become familiar with the accounting and valuation treatment for a variety of asset classes, including
equities, futures, fixed income securities, listed options, currency forwards, contracts-for-difference, credit default swaps, interest rate swaps and other OTC products.
· Special projects as distributed by the Managing Director ? Operational Risk, COO or the Operations
Management Team. Work out of the Chicago Office and report directly to the Managing Director ? Operational Risk. Quarterly business travel to Florida head office for Operations Department integration and training.
Education & Experience
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required
1-4 years prior work experience preferably with a large public accounting or financial services organization or regulator with responsibilities focused on the hedge fund and/or asset
management space with broad exposure to accounting/operational issues.
