Surgical Services Technician in Chicago, IL

The surgical technician II, under the supervision of the RN, assists in giving care to surgical patients prior to, during and after surgery. Plans intra-operative patient care as the scrub nurse to ensure adequate preparation for the surgical procedure.Insures the necessary and correct sterile supplies and surgical instruments are available for each surgical case on a consistent basis and in a timely manner. Checks sterile supplies to insure package/wrap/container integrity.Organizes and checks all necessary equipment to ensure safety during the surgical procedure on all assigned patients on a consistent basis.Consistently verifies all counts with the RN on all patients.Acts as a scrub nurse during surgical procedures.
