1962 BMW R50/2 Vintage

The BMW R 50/2 VIN 633xxx was manufactured on May 18th, 1962 and delivered on May 25th, 1962 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat.We have here for your consideration an early Earles fork, 1962 BMW R50/2. Triple matching frame, tag and engine numbers, clean title, original paint. Bike equipped with new Denfeld solo seat. This Beemer runs and rides excellent and needs nothing but a new loving owner. Feel free to make a reasonable offer if seriously interested. ~14K miles on the clock, original paint with pinstriper initials under the tank (R). Recent tune up included checked and adjusted valves, cleaned carbs, set timing, changed all fluids, fuel lines and fuel filters, new shaft rubber boot....bike starts in 1 kick and runs like a champ.Tires in good shape although show minimal signs of dry rot on the sidewalls in few spots are mounted on desirable High Lip Aluminium rims, some nicks and scratches, small dents on front and rear fenders. We had our pinstriper to go over the original stripes as those were wearing out and look super sharp now. Bike was last on the road in 1997 and after the tuneup as you can see on the video bike does not smoke nor make funny noises. Both exhaust pipes were professionally repaired with stainless steel patches underneath. The repairs are not very noticeable but are there. New black, Werker 6V battery installed recently (9/2014). Bike comes with 2 ignition keys, owners manual and set of tools. I have ridden the bike and shifted all 4 gears. It rides very well and is pleasure to operate. Electrical components all work as intended including the lights and horn.
