Senior JVM Engineer & Mentor - Trading Systems, Chicago - $125K + performance related bonus (up to 50%) Our client enjoys a diverse range of operations encompassing proprietary electronic trading, asset management and retail equity / options brokerage. They would like to appoint an experienced JVM Engineer for its proprietary electronic trading team. Your primary function will be on the development of various aspects of the firms trading systems and related applications. As a senior engineer, it is anticipated that you will play a key role in defining as well as executing the pipeline of projects that are required to keep the firms trading systems and applications in line with the needs of its trading team, new strategies and markets. You will also be expected to play a key role in hiring and mentoring entry -level and junior developers across the various businesses. Ensuring that they gain the experience and skills that will allow them to make a contribution across one or more of the firm's business lines. Requirements? 2-5 years experience of JAVA or JVM programming experience from any industry.? Experience from within the electronic trading market is desirable but not necessary.? Versatile experience JVM (Erjang, Clojure, Scala, Groovy etc).? The desire and ability to proactively and independently pick up the language / skills required to get the task done.?
