Systems Infrastructure Architect & Engineer Are you an experienced Systems Infrastructure Architect & Engineer looking to work with a company whose core values are trust, integrity, discipline, and ingenuity? If so, this is just the position for you. We are looking for an experienced Systems Infrastructure Architect & Engineer for a contract-to-hire position in Chicago, IL. The technology scope of this position includes a full range of infrastructure technologies, systems management, and the execution of enterprise level architecture. The Architect/Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and management of the infrastructure and data center consolidation, delivery, and management of a complex enterprise system, and communications to internal IT management and external service providers. Focus will be on technology design and implementation, solution engineering according to company standards, and the development of capital and its related operating expense. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-10 years of experience in the conceptual design, selection, integration, implementation, and troubleshooting of infrastructure services architecture and related supporting technologies in a large organization. Relevant engineering and technology administration experience is also required. He/she should be knowledgeable of industry standards, have a deep technical knowledge of infrastructure systems management tools, and possess excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills, with the ability to explain complex technical material to a variety of audiences. Job Skills 5-10 years of IT engineering and technology administration experience
5 years of Windows 2003/2008 server administration experience
5 years of configuration and maintenance of HP Proliant DL Server and Hitachi USPV experience
3 years of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Citrix architecture, and VMWare technologies experience
3 years of experience with replication technologies such as VMWare SRM, Double Take, and HUR
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
MCSE and/or VCP certification is desired
Broad understanding of enterprise system architecture
Expert knowledge of IT engineering design, implementation plans, and operation performance metrics
Strategic vendor relations and management skills
Strong technical knowledge of commonly used enterprise architecture tools, hardware, and software
Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem solving skills To Apply
